Hello ThomasL, I have a few questions: - Which .NET-Version is installed? - Have you other addins running? Please unload them and restart Excel. - What is your installation path for Palo? - What version is your operating system? - What was the entry for the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/..." before adapting? Regards, Stephanie

Hello Zprof, Your actual data is in the log file and gets transferred to the csv file after stopping the server. The complete history is found in the archive files. The archive files should be removed after some time, especially when the log files grow that big. Please backup your databases regularly and remove the archive files! In your "2 DB after Stopping Palo Service" there seem to have occurred problems at cube no 44 and that futher cubes (45 - 59) have not correctly been saved in the shutt…

Hello Christian, Could you try to change the settings of loading Palo automatically with Excel? You would found these settings in your Palo menu (Start\Programs\Jedox\Palo\Palo settings). Does that help? Regards, Stephanie

Hello, Here's a short info about the ETL-Server: The new Palo ETL-Server will be released during the first quarter 2008. As Mike noted correctly it will be under a GPL licence. Watch out for more information on the Jedox homepage and a first downloadable alpha-version on sourceforge.net soon. Regards, Stephanie

RE: Long Time to get data

    Stephanie - - General

    Post

Hello Wilfried, This is difficult to advise as I don't know your application and your server specifications. - Set your cache-barrier to a higher value, adapt the cache-size to your system. Other parameters could also help, but would start with those two first, change them stepwise and test it with your application. Regards, Stephanie

    RE: Database corruption

    Stephanie - - General

    Post

Hello Herman, If your database gets corrupted just remove the database which got affected after stopping the Palo server. Depending on the error occurred the database could get reconstructed, Palo server also provides mechanisms for that too. Always try to restart Palo server first. Regularly saving of the database via API (see also Server Browser)/ Batchscript or manual and keeping a backup is highly recommended especially for fast changing databases. Regards, Stephanie

Hello Herman, Palo would not create a new palostyles.xls if it is not there, but leads to an error (.."Style '_page' not found."). Have you changed this template since? Is the data directory set in the palo.ini file correct? Regards, Stephanie

Hello Axel, There's unfortunately no opportunity to disable the Palo menu keeping the functionality. To adapt the Palo installation for your needs, get in direct contact with Jedox. Regards, Stephanie

RE: Long Time to get data

    Stephanie - - General

    Post

Hello, Palo Server does not support multithreading/multiprocessing by now but this is planned in the near future for Palo 3.0 in 2008. @Wilfried: You could try to change the cache (cache barrier/cache size etc) settings in the palo.ini file? This could help to adapt your application to your hardware. Those entries are described in the palo.ini.sample. This should speedup your application and shorten the time for the next process. Regards, Stephanie

IF statemnet and equal sign (=)

    Stephanie - - Rules

    Post

Hello Pommie, Sorry, I guess this link was more confusing than it helped. Using the IF-statement needs "==" for testing equality and normal "=" won't work as it stands for assignment. Quote: “"test if x = y, and if x is not zero, execute the statement following"” This therefore won't work. Regards, Stephanie
