This functionality would be indeed handy but unfortunately its not possible to set the position & size of form element by macro. Have you considered using 'dynamic range' with formula? ( formula populates the vertical rows) below the dynamic range add button - so your button will be always below the last row. Best regards, Noel.

Two or Multiple Cubes in one Worksheet

    noelgaur - - General

    Post

In Jedox its possible to paste view or data from one or more cubes belonging to same or different database within the worksheet. If you notice, Jedox places formulae on cells like PALO.DATAC("server/database","cubename","dim1"......,"dimn) on cells. - so no workaround needed Best regards, Noel.

I have provided you a feasible direction, it remains unto you to model it to your needs, implement and test it. We would be happy to help if you face real technical challenges on the way, but at least first give it a honest try and struggle. What better way to test if a calculation works by compiling it yourself ? regards, Noel.

for 1. You would be the best judge of that with your applied business knowledge. From what I see if a child alias is present in Parent level then its Produced else its sourced. 2. IF Product is Produced ? THEN: // note that MBS01_MBL01 alias is MBL01 and if its Produced then parent Product name: MBL01 Parent Product's Cost Rollup multiplied by Effective Price ELSE Purchased Price * Effective Quantity END-IF 3. You can either have a Version dimension and define ways of doing this calculation, or …

I can suggest a workaround, but only good if you data display grid size is relatively small. Have the auto calculate turned on: >In the worksheet paste your view, but delete the PALO.DATA cells, >write a php macro to populate the data cell grid (check the members and relative position of cells and loop a palo.data and output to corresponding cells)-connect this function to POV dimension selection dropdown boxes ( if user wishes to change selection then the data would change). You could also atta…

Access a form element via macro

While this is not possible, there are workarounds > you could add HTML tags in worksheet cells , but state is only preserved when you are in the cell. Use widgets -> either attach html as code, or IFRAME backed by a url address. Widgets are best way to add lacking functionality, as it offers you programming flexibility and easy data exchange, see the Geo Analysis (Widget) demo under Demo Spreadsheets > Biker Best > workbooks in file manager. Hello Boris, If you are using TREEFH to create Product Hierarchy then, you will have to structure your source columns like: ParentID,Parent_Name, Parent_Produced, ChildID,Child_Name,Child_Produced In this example, Parent_Name is not needed as its same as parent id. for: - MBS01 |---------- MBS01_MBL01 source as: MBS01,TRUE,MBS01_MBL01,MBL01,FALSE Have 2 aliases defined in TREEFH as - Product Name and Produced Then select Alias Product Name and define for Level ParentID , Product Name as column P…

Consolidated members in dimension hierarchy have the best performance and next is the Offsets.. Sometimes for its better to do the monkey way and have many formulae than to have a conditional if-else-if . I have provided 2 sets of example - one using datetime dimension and other assuming Year and Month as different dimension. Since you have single dimension for Year and Month i.e 201301,201302 etc members.. its simpler to use offsets, just ensure that the element order is preserved or in a patte…

    Limits of PALO 3.2 CE

Its always better to have as many less dimensions as possible, a good design would have <10 dimensions for a cube. Consider using attributes to elements in a dimensions, also explore the possibility of merging multiple dimensions into one. If you have data sets of multiple functionality - sometimes it would even be beneficial of having multiple cubes with different sets of dimensions and measures, instead of having one large single cube. Best regards, Noel.

Theoretically should be able to support upto 256 dimensions with 2^32 elements in it. - i.e Terabyte scale. But 3.2 ce as its 32 bit app, addressable ram restricted to<4 Gb max cube size, but its sufficient for the data volume you have mentioned. Do a proof of concept by building a model and loading random dummy a year worth of data - check the stability and performance. When using Palo - you would have to think of your data not as a tabular format but as dimension, measures and cubes. Also note…

    PALO.DATA on array

Have you considered using measure selection - like dropdown based on which the underlying selection variable will change the perspective from one measure to other; you still would have in chart one line but you can toggle between different measures. This would be the easiest solution as it needs no macro; Btw - why you can't use palo functions inside php code, instead of calling the REST api ? Best regards, Noel.

function "returns" hence terminates after return statement and will not execute subsequent steps, functions can be referenced cross modules, also you could opt to use fully qualified names like ModuleName.functionName() during the call. Simple Hello World print on cell A1 example: Example have this function in Module1 function __open() { helloWorld(); //or // Module2.helloWorld(); // or // return helloWorld(); } below function in Module2 function helloWorld(){ activesheet()->range('A1')->value =…

BOM planning is a bit tricky when it comes to cubes, its a good idea of exploiting alias for product(BOM) dimension, since duplicate member names are not permitted. Twin dimension modeling for parent child is not a good way to design. for example, if Product A is output product constituting of B, C and Product B is constituting of C & E Then your product(BOM) dimension would structure as A (Alias: Product A) | -- A_B (Alias: Product B) | -- A_C (Alias: Product C) B (Alias: Product B) | -- B_C ( …

This can be achieved using SOAP, wsdl file can be referred through url: http://<server>:<ETLPORT>/etlserver/services/ETL-Server?wsdl default etlport being 7775 if you havn't adjusted it during installation. There are some seeded example in sample Biker project , File manager>Demo Spreadsheet>ETL Tools, edit the macro , its in Php but will give you a good on how to consume this wsdl. Best regards, Noel.
