Limit on the number of Dim Elements in the GetDataExport function

    Limit on the number of Dim Elements in the GetDataExport function

    Is there a limit on dimension elements for GetDataExport - OLAP Server query

    I am using the DotNet library for Palo

    There is this function - GetDataExport

    It takes a string[][] as a parameter.

    I have a cube with 600 + 600 dimension elements in 2 different dimensions.

    When I try to get data by setting the string[][] to have all 1200 dim elements the Palo server times out.

    But I did the same using the Jedox trial and it worked!

    Is there any limit on the dumber of dimension elements that can be used with the GetDataExport method?

    Also this does not throw an exception - all dim elements are valid, but the OLAP server simply crashes of sorts.

    The Palo.exe process is still running, but navigating to localhost:7921 leads to a 404 error - not found

    I then go and stop Palo.exe & restart and it works fine.

    Thanks
    Hi rtindru,

    I do not use the DotNet API, but I know the equivalent in PHP :

    PHP Source Code

    1. $data=palo_getdata_export($connection_id_id_admin, 'Demo', 'Sales', false, TRUE,NULL,$nblines,NULL,$dimensions);

    the $nblines param allows you to restrict the number of lines returned. Weirdly in PHP it is mandatory.

    Hope this helps,
