    • OO addin with 64Bit Linux?

When trying to install PalOOCa_2.02.oxt under 64Bit Ubuntu 10.04 and OO 3.2 I get the error message:

      Source Code

      1. ImplementationRegistration::registerImplementation()
      2. InvalidRegistryException during registration (prepare Registry(): source Registry is empty)

      Java Runtime is Sun 1.6.20
The same work under 32bit Ubuntu 10.04

      Any ideas?
    • oxt is just a container, not meant as an executable

      thanks for the link-reminder:

    • 2.03 is the same.

ATM, I try VERY HARD to build it myself from source.
      2.06 seems to be available.

But I am still missing some libraries (have never built a java program before or used the Netbeans IDE). And I'm trying in vain on 32bit since this is my virtual test machine. Linux, Kubuntu 10.04

    • RE: OO addin with 64Bit Linux?

      I had the same problem:

      - Ubuntu 10:04, 32 bit
      - OpenOffice 3.2

      I had to:

      sudo-apt-get install openoffice.org-java-common

      To get the necessary pre-requisites.

Then the Palo OO extension installed successful.

But, as others have mentioned, the Palo menu does not appear to be added to the OO menu bar.
    • RE: OO addin with 64Bit Linux?

I had installed the extension via the UI (i.e. via 'extension manager' in the Tools menu). This installs it for the current user.

I removed it again, then installed as a shared extension using:

      sudo unopkg add --shared PalOOCa.oxt

This then allowed the new menu to show up (after restarting OO).

The next problem was figuring out how to connect. The default 'localhost' connection provided did not work, and was not editable. So I created a new connection. This is done through the "Modeler" menu option (under the Palo menu).

Once this was done I was able to connect to my cubes and access views. How good it is after this point I don't know - still exploring.
