  • Trying to connect from Excel to Palo on a Windows server

    Hi,

I know this has probably been posted quite a few times and I apologize for this.

I'm using Palo Community Version 3.2 and I'm trying to connect from Excel to Palo on a Windows server but I have some difficulties.

To connect to web I use the port 8081 as I read in the httpd.conf file and it run OK.

But I don't know what port I must use to connect from Excel and where is the config file.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,
  • Hi Robregon,

the port 8081 that you set up in the httpd.conf file is the port on which Apache listens.

The default OLAP Server port is 7777. It can be changed in the <install>/Data/palo.ini file. the http "127.0.0.1" 7777 is the one. but be careful, if you let the "127.0.0.7" the olap server will be only available from this address.

If you change it here you have to change it in a few other files. please refer to the jedox installation documentation to know which.

    hope this helps,

    cheers

  • Hi,

Laloune, thank you very much for your response!

The problem now is that I can't preview the cube I've already done.

When I try from Palo Web it runs OK but from Excel I only preview a Demo.

    PALO WEB
    Server: 172.17.40.102
    Port: 8081

    EXCEL
    Server 172.17.40.102
    Port: 7777

    Where will be the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,
