  • What's the best practice for Deleting Elements and Cube data selectively

    In our current instance there's a lot of testing going on and before go-live we will need to clean up all these testing and have only a selected dataset.

    For example..

    While testing on forecasting, there has been many future forecast versions created as well as test transaction data has gone into many cubes.

    For go-live, we need to delete the above mentioned test forecast versions as well as the corresponding transaction data in multiple cubes.

    What would be the best practice for this :?:

  • Hi Chris,

    as always in life, you have several options.
    You could create an ETL-Job and make a Loop-Job out of it, in order to let the job run for all cubes.
    So make an extract on he specific Version and then make a cube load with delete. (For the loop job, a variable for the cube-name would be helpful/needed).

    The other Option would be to delete with the splashing assistant. Depending on the amount of cubes, it could be faster than creating the etl-Job for a few cubes for a larger number it can be quite tedious, though.
