  • Hi there,

My company currently uses Applix TM1. We use it as a central data repository. External clients enter and review data through a web interface, and our internal users analyze this data. We make extensive use of TM1 rules, which allow real-time computation of metrics derived from the raw data as it is entered.

Overall we are fairly happy with TM1, but it is expensive and somewhat buggy, and not Linux friendly. I also prefer Free/Open Source software for both practical and philosophical reasons. For both reasons, Palo interests me greatly.

My question is, in what ways are Palo and TM1 similar, and in what ways are they different? I realize that Palo is quite new and evolving, and I plan to test it out, but in the meantime I'd like to figure out if Palo could meet our production needs by, say, 2007.
