  • palostyles appear when doing paste view

    Hi!

    I encountered a strange event.

    After I added elements in the attributes, I paste view and Palo created a new sheet "palostyles".

    I cannot paste any views even non-attribute type.

    Attached is the screenshot.

    The bug report is here...

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

  • RE: palostyles appear when doing paste view

    Hello sentosa,

    In palostyles.xls the formats for Paste View are defined. You
    can adapt this to your needs using Format > Style > Modify >...
    If you do it via context menu, the changes will not work.

    If I understand you right, you did not change or remove this
    sheet, or did you? This happened after adding elements
    as attributes?

    Have you removed this file and installed the original one
    to the Palo folder? This exception occurs if this file could for
    example not be found.

    Regards,
    Stephanie
  • RE: palostyles appear when doing paste view

    Stephanie,

    The palostyles sheet is always there in the palo directory.
    I encountered this problem only on a particular excel sheet I am using to paste view.
    When I start with a brand new worksheet with no other sheet running and do it all over again, it is OK.

    So you are saying that if palostyles.xls is not found, Palo would automatically generate a new palostyles sheet?
    So Palo did not open the existing palostyles.xls sheet?

    OK I will keep it in mind when this occurs again.

  • RE: palostyles appear when doing paste view

    Hello Herman,

    Palo would not create a new palostyles.xls if it is not there, but leads
    to an error (.."Style '_page' not found."). Have you changed this template
    since? Is the data directory set in the palo.ini file correct?

    Regards,
    Stephanie
  • Hi Stephanie,

    i have the same problem.

    I had an excel file containing forecast data and I inserted a new worksheet in it. On this worksheet I pasted dimension elements (using "paste elements" and "paste subsets") and setdata functions in order to upload data into the cube. Afterwards I inserted a new worksheet and I wanted to paste a view.
    This time Palo opened the palostyles.xls. I have not changed anything in palostyles.xls before. When I opened a new workbook everything worked fine. When I copied the view from the new workbook to the one which does not work correctly the colours have changed by some parts of the view. These colors can not be seen in the palostyles.xls.

    Please find attached the zipped workbook (snapshot).

    Regards,
    Laci
